Back in San Francisco for just one night after a 14-month run in New York City, this hilarious, highly personal solo show explores playwright-performer Ben Rimalower's journey of self-discovery. When his father came out of the closet and began taking drugs, Rimalower found comfort in musical theater, especially in the transportive voice and larger-than-life personality of Broadway legend Patti LuPone. With a mix of comic irreverence, stark candor and show-biz bravado, Patti Issues poignantly examines the challenges facing LGBT families while shining a light on gay men's fascination with divas. The show has garnered rave reviews from numerous luminaries of the theatre world, including Tony Kushner, Alan Cummings and Patti LuPone herself. Learn More

I thought Jennifer was very brave to take on this subject...she will probably hate me for saying that. But it true and I commend her for sharing her stories of being Palestinian in the US and being American Palestinian in Palestine. She did a good job of portraying the complicated mess we are all in through her personal stories. Sometimes some of it is so sad, you can only laugh about it. I was very glad to have seen this show and it has given me lots to think about.
