Writer and comic Bruce Vilanch steps into a role previously performed by Bert Lahr and Red Skelton in this production of Du Barry Was a Lady. Featuring music and lyrics by Cole Porter, the story follows a hapless nightclub washroom attendant who wins the Irish Sweepstakes. An inadvertent dose of knock-out drops transports him to a dream world where he imagines himself as King Louis XV in pursuit of the lovely and mischievous Madame Du Barry. Porter's score features terrific numbers including "Friendship," "Well, Did You Evah?," "Do I Love You?," "Katie Went to Haiti" and "But in the Morning, No." Learn More
Fun small friendly group of employees work here, lots of places close by in the financial district to eat, they have bottles water & mini cupcakes for sale during the intermission. It got pretty hot in there, even with the ceiling fans on, so dress in layers.info • Jun 14 2013 star this tip starred

This production demonstrates the fine talent at RAY OF LIGHT - from every aspect of this from staging/directing/talent. The creative space and orchestra, in such a limited space, along the excellent staging make this production very professional. Of course, the brilliant vocal/acting talents were the major contributors to our enjoyment of the show. The replacement for Jack's Mother was the only weak cast member, but the contributions she made as Assistant Director/=Choreographer was most impressive. This performance made the Eureka Theater into an exciting evening of theater.
