I've seen J&H several times, the touring company that passed thru SF as well as a local production or two. This was easily the most unique version with the music-playing actors. I loved all three leads, especially Molly Gazay as Lucy. The sound wasn't always right (some of the instruments were drowning out the singing at times) but overall it was a fine and fully enjoyable production. I imagine they'll play to the Halloween crowd quite well!

It has all the elements of a good story : struggle between the good and bad inside all of us, unwavering determination , morality, familial duty/guilt/sadness/nostalgy, women who make bad choices, friendships gone awry, father /daughter struggles, love that has been lost to insanity, good singing and dancing. If you want to be thoroughly entertained, this is the show! My husband even said 'bravo' three times and normally he critiques musicals with a sharp eye.

A wonderful surprise of a musical (I'd forgotten how beautiful the music is), with sweet and powerful voices, fine acting, and a great classic story. The audience gave the performers a much deserved standing ovation when I attended Sunday afternoon. I highly recommend this production.

Jekyll & Hyde is the smash-hit Broadway musical based on the novel, "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson. The original stage conception was by Steve Cuden and Frank Wildhorn. Convinced the cure for his father's mental illness lies in the separation of Man's evil nature from his good, Dr. Henry Jekyll unwittingly unleashed his own dark side, wreaking havoc in the streets of late 19-century London as the savage, maniacal Edward Hyde.
With a whole new look and feel inspired by the designs of Vivienne Westwood and Baz Lurhmann, this updated classic will feature a cast of actor/singer/musicians and highlights such Broadway hit tunes like 'Someone Like You,' 'Take Me As I Am' and the hit song 'This Is The Moment.'
