SF Symphony: Barantschik and Vinocour Play Britten's Double Concerto
- Full Price:
- $34.00 - $92.00
- Our Price:
- $10.00
The San Francisco Symphony, under the baton of conductor Kirill Karabits, spotlights violinist Alexander Barantschik and violist Jonathan Vinocour for a performance of Benjamin Britten's Double Concerto. Written as a tribute for Britten's composition teacher when the composer was just 18, the Double Concerto is a challenging piece that requires immense technical skill on both the violin and viola. Its youthful vigor is sure to challenge the virtuosity of the Symphony's Concertmaster and Principal Violist. The program also features Honegger's Pacific 231 and Sibelius' Symphony No. 2. Learn More

Written on Sep 24 2012This was a great event, the opening performers were awesome and really made the evening that much better, in fact, by the time Strunz and Farah came on which was much later into the evening we had heard so much great music that we had actually had enough. We did stay for Strunz and Farah and loved them. It has been many years since we saw them live but they are as good as ever.
Written on Sep 20 2012Strunz & Farah were fantastic, but the opening act was too long (1 hour). I would have preferred just to hear the headliners...what talents!
Written on Sep 18 2012It was awsome!!!
Written on Sep 18 20125 Stars for Strunz and Farrah, but 1 Star for GoldStarEvents, or maybe the concert promoters. NO ONE TOLD US THE 8:00 SHOW WOULD START AT 9:30. The first hour there was some earnest but empty, lifeless jazz by a local band and then a few numbers by a good guitarist--which mainly served to change our anticipation and joy about hearing S. & F. to relief the first two acts had finally quit.
