Justin Bond and Kenny Mellman as Kiki & Herb are twisted, hilarious, and brilliant!
It's clever of them to play old characters. Not only so that their act can go on and on as they age, but also because of Justin Bond's voice. As a cabaret singer, I don't believe Mr. Bond's voice would be enough if he performed as himself. But as an old woman, it's perfect! It's low and raspy like that of a woman who has been smoking and drinking for years.
Behind all of the politically incorrect humor (and there's LOTS of it!), there IS an important message. Sometimes you've got to get ugly to get to the truth. (That's not the message! It's just a description of how Kiki & Herb work!)
I would highly recommend Kiki & Herb to my friends!
Brilliantly twisted, delightfully deviant, Kiki & Herb Alive on Broadway shows the amazing maturity and growth that these San Francisco originals have created after over a decade of developing these characters. The show contains a few old familiar pieces to those of us who have seen them many times over the years, but contains more new material than any of their previous performances on a San Francisco stage. Hilarious from beginning to end!
The Kiki & Herb were hilarious and exactly what we were hoping the show would be.
The Geary Theater, built in 1909, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a San Francisco City Landmark. The theater's neo-classical brick and terra cotta facade on Geary Street opens to a monumental 1,500 seat auditorium trimmed with ornamental stenciling and gilded plaster.

Not satisfied simply doing endless versions of cabaret standards, Kiki & Herb display their unique musical prowess reinventing popular songs by great 20th- and 21st-century artists like Wu-Tang Clan, Joni Mitchell, Styx, Pat Benatar, Radiohead, Nirvana, Bonnie Tyler, and Britney Spears. Kiki DuRane is a brash, boozy, septuagenarian chanteuse. She's never much cared what other people think, but she's always willing to say what she thinks. Onstage with her stalwart accompanist and only living friend Herb, Kiki somehow stumbles her way through a selection of songs, punctuated by political rants, searching social commentary, and recollections of a lifetime filled with unforgettable memories.
