Two of America's top rising comedy stars co-headline Cobb's Comedy Club. Born in Louisiana, Sean Patton has had a strange life full of unlikely adventures, and he's not shy about telling audiences about them. A natural storyteller who's as likable as he is hilarious, he's been seen on TBS's Conan, NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Comedy Central's Live at Gotham. He's also appeared at Montreal's famous Just for Laughs festival, and at top comedy clubs across the nation. Chris Porter gained nationwide fame for the first time on the fourth season of NBC's hit show Last Comic Standing. He's been bringing his slightly skewed perspective to the stand-up stage since he was 23, and has since scored his own Comedy Central special, along with appearances on Live at Gotham and other shows. I thought both these guys were dynamite. Very funny, very sharp, and yet somehow it was more personal, more caring, and I have to say, they had the audience in the palm of their hand; by the end of the first Kabir set, no one wanted him to quit, they did not want the next act to be something less great and so they clearly did not want him to leave the stage; but then Sammy came out and KILLED, and was equally great. I think people felt good about them being a duo, sort of a brotherhood thing going on there, and coming out speaking together at the end to make sure everyone knew about their CD and other stuff for sale, very funny and sweet, I do not know, very welcoming---an unusually delightful ending. It was like no one wanted the show to end. Maybe everyone was pretty proud that this non-white headliner act is terrific, absolutely top-shelf. Gotta have more.
Where the hell is the fan club? I want to join, for sure!
