Solid performances and smart material. Best New Year's Eve ever! Am definitely looking up all three comedians to catch their next gigs.

A last minute decision not to stay home on New Year's Eve and I'm glad I made it. I was primarily interested in seeing W.Kamal Bell based on prior reviews. He was definitely the highlight of the evening though each of the others provided a few laughs as well. I enjoy edgy material around race/religion from a strong left political perspective.

Well, I must say that I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The "host" was funny and I enjoyed 2 of the 3 "featured" comedians. My main reason for coming was because of Kamau Bell...and he delivered!! Bucky kicked off the show and did a nice job, Nato was a little sluggish, but had some good lines.

Description

W. Kamau Bell has been called very much in the mold of politically outspoken comedians like Dave Chappelle and Margaret Cho. Kamau was named Best Comedian 2008 by SF Weekly. Also seen on Comedy Central's Premium Blend and performing his critically-acclaimed solo show, The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism In About An Hour.

Bucky Sinister has been called a cross between David Sedaris and Dog The Bounty Hunter. Bucky has published three books of poetry, a CD of spoken word comedy that Spin magazine listed among "tracks you must download now," and a new untraditional self-help book entitled Get Up.

Nato Green is in the tradition of great Jewish comedians like Lenny Bruce, Mort Sahl, and Joe Leiberman. Nato is the mastermind of Iron Comic, Laugh Out the Vote, Laughing Liberally Local 415, and the New Jew Revue. He's appeared in the Progressive Reading Series and SF Sketchfest 2008.
