Far from a typical dance performance, this Liss Fain Dance "performance installation" allows the audience to move freely between four areas of the performance space. Entitled The False and True Are One, the work interweaves company founder Liss Fain's emotionally powerful, abstract choreography with the spoken text of Lydia Davis' witty, unusual short stories. The performance environment -- featuring architectural, translucent screens and an immersive soundscape -- surrounds the dancers, the actor and the audience. It's a unique experience from any perspective.

Creative, vibrant, and provocative use of space, dance form, acting, the written word and music. I was totally engaged and can't wait to see her again.

We absolutely loved this performance. It was amazing to be that close up to the dancers and we could really feel the performance. The dancers were very skilled and beautiful. We could listen to the actress who read from Word fro Word Theater always. It was so good, we stayed for the second performance to see it all again.

Excellent performers and a great example of Modern Dance requiring grace, strength, creativity and skill. I was initially not sure of the interactive approach by the audience, but gave it a try, and found it fun and much more engaging. Bravo!
