Henry Cho's comedy draws on his upbringing as a Korean-American in Tennessee. A frequent guest on The Tonight Show, Henry had an hour-long Comedy Central special, What's That Clickin' Noise? Henry's film credits include Material Girls and the Farrelly brothers' Say it Isn't So. Learn More

The headliner was pretty spectcularly un-funny, but the five warm-up comics were great. It's a pretty cool venue (though a bit stuffy - and go to the restroom BEFORE you come to this show - the restrooms here are DISGUSTING).

A great night, because the Purple Onion is an absolutely intimate vegetable, I mean venue, in which to experience Will Franken and other comedians. And Will left his audience in awe, which is the way of things. We also learned that Will is living in SF again, which I hope means we'll see more of him and his strange wonderfulness at the Purple Onion. Of course, if you don't want to laugh hard (and sometime at your own thinking) . . . don't go.

We were really laughing hard. Great venue and great comedians!

Lovely venue, and Will Franken is a trip! I highly recommend catching his show whenever he's in town.

Had a great time - front row, center seats. My friend from Michigan loved it!

so we went to this venue and it was throw-backish in a good way.
you had the exposed brick walls and old booths.
the beers were priced right at $5 a pint.
felt like a speakeasy that featured comedy.
oh yeah, and the comics were entertaining too.
would definitely go back.
the atmosphere completed the show.

A great club with a terrific lineup of acts. Marga Gomez is just the best. I gave it 4 stars because it seemed the comedians weren't given enough time

It was okay.....I thought Chris Garcia was funnier than Hari Kondabolu, but Kondabolu himself wasn't bad.....good venue, staff was super friendly!

Hari Kondabolu was excellent! Witty, smart, versatile, interesting, provocative. Everything you want in stand up comedy. The hostess was also poised and witty--did a good job holding the many parts of the show together. The other comics were OK, nothing special. Excellent draft scottish ale on tap!

We got a pizza and a few drinks. I love the venue, but it was pretty empty which makes comedy a bit difficult.

The tall comedian from Trinidad was our favorite.

Laughed my ass off.
Brent Weinbach is a weird nut.
Small venue that really works for me for stand-up comedy.
4-5 other comics started off the show.
All talented, some more than others, but all refreshing and funny and a good time.

I only wish the timing had been revealed to me a li'l earlier. I didn't know until after I booked the tickets that it was going to be a 10pm show. Missed the main comedian Aundre, liked Sean and the other one in a coat and suit. The woman comedian in a tux seemed very amateurish and that's when I fell asleep!
Purple Onion is a nice and cozy place, loved the seating. The restaurant above looked good from outside, but we were given the worst seats in the place and absolutely hated it! nice dessert though...

This place was fun! It's very small and cozy. Staff was friendly, comics were entertaining, and food & drinks good too. We'll be back for sure.
