This ‘Wine for Locals’ tour takes you to the heart of California’s oldest wine region, Livermore. Dating back to the 1760’s when the Spanish missionaries planted the first wine grapes in the Livermore Valley, this region has a long history of producing some of the finest wine California has to offer. Join Extranomical Adventures on this upcoming tour as you hark back to the golden years of early California wine history and see the ‘other’ Bay Area wine region, right in your backyard!

The tour takes you to three highly esteemed wineries where you can enjoy samples of the local produce amongst the picturesque canyons, and enjoy traditional Livermore hospitality. So don’t miss this unforgettable experience and unique opportunity to maybe pick up some truly elegant Christmas presents for your loved ones.

Scheduled Itinerary

9:15 AM – Parc 55 Pickup (55 Cyril Magnin across the street from Powell BART Station)

11.00 AM – Concannon Vineyards and Winery (Wine Tasting $5)

Founded by the Irish born James Concannon, over 125 years ago in 1883, the tradition of making extraordinary wines is continued in this family owned vineyard by Concannon’s grandson Jim. James Concannon dreamed of producing world-class Bordeaux and Rhone-style wines and thus with each glass of their various exceptional wines, the winery successfully continue the legacy of this remarkable winemaker. Give your tastebuds a treat and be sure to sample their world renowned Petit Sirah!

1:00 PM – Lunch at Rios-Lovell Winery

Enjoy a picnic lunch at the beautiful Rios-Lovell winery before visiting their winery.

2:30 PM – Rios-Lovell Winery (Wine Tasting $5)

Located amongst the beautiful rolling vineyards of the Livermore Valley is the easy going Rios-Lovell Estate winery. Inside, you can relax in the tasting room and enjoy a variety of award-winning wines whilst outside you can bask in the charming setting of this vineyard from its babbling brook to the unique mural adorned walls.

4:00 PM – Page Mill Winery (Wine Tasting $5/$10)

Quality over quantity is the philosophy of the Page Mill Winery. This quaint family-owned winery is dedicated to producing smaller quantities of extremely high quality wines. Founded in Santa Cruz in 1976, Page Mill Winery relocated to Livermore in 2004. The owner’s son Dane personally supervises the harvest each year to ensure that only the highest quality grapes are used to create their wines.
