The first two comedians were hilarious, but Samson Koletkar was just ok. He should not be the finale since we have a heightened expectation of him following his fellow acts.

Description

An Indian, A Jew, and An Indian Jew bring their hilarity and their disparity to the stage. Three individuals with overlapping identities but unique lives dish out their life’s absurdities, anomalies, and adventures that are sure to tickle your funny bone.

Dhaya Lakshminarayanan's commanding 5-foot-tall stage presence, sharply written material, ease with the crowd, and vibrant characters draw in rowdy bar flies and excite sober intellectuals alike. For Dhaya, life is comedy, including her traditional Indian upbringing, nerd-pride, childhood in the Deep South, thoughtfully accessible socio-political commentary, and daily amusements in colorful San Francisco. She was a part of the national "Five Funny Females" tour, has performed in clubs around the country, was a finalist at the Rooster T Feathers Comedy Competition, won third place in the 2008 Harvey's Political Comedy Competition, and first place in the 2007 "Battle of the Bay" competition. She will be the host of PBS series "High School Quiz Show" airing in March 2010 on WGBH.

Joe Nguyen’s path to comedy began when he was born in the state of Georgia to a Vietnamese immigrant and a white Jewish woman from the Dominican Republic. After moving to California for college he developed a moderate disdain for nonsense that is best captured by jokes. Despite being atypical he appeals to a plethora of audiences with his likeable stage presence and smart writing. Joe won the 2009 Russian River Comedy Competition and is the producer of a successful weekly showcase in San Francisco.

Samson Koletkar, often called "The Indian Seinfeld", is the world’s only Indian Jewish Standup Comedian. Born and raised in Mumbai, and now living in San Francisco, his comedy is a unique perspective on life as an Indian Jew. His observations and experiences are refreshingly new and unadulterated by existing stereotypes. He establishes a new and unique view of the world, which often echoes the voice of the seldom heard 1st generation immigrants. His comedy is intelligent, clean, and appeals to people of every race, religion and ethnicity. An instantly likeable personality, he makes you smile as soon as he steps on the stage. Through his comedy he has some strong social messages. He has toured with "Pundits with Punchlines", performed with "Make Chai Not War" & "Slumdog Comedy Tour". He has performed at clubs, colleges and corporations in California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington DC, & India.

Don’t be fooled by their complicated last names, their uncomplicated approach to comedy covers every topic under the sun - race, religion, food, philosophy, nerdy-ness and more. Put on your thinking caps and enjoy the clean, smart, high-brow comedy.
