Jip, His Story: Benefit Show Featuring Cellist Joan Jeanrenaud (Formerly of Kronos Quartet)
In celebration of their 10th anniversary, Marsh Youth Theater presents a special benefit production of Jip, His Story
, a musical adaptation of Katherine Paterson's famed historical novel which centers around a 19th century Vermont boy who must face a web of racial and class prejudice. Left on the side of the road and raised on a small farm, young Jip begins unraveling the mysteries of who his parents were and the surprising circumstances that brought him to his adopted home. This special fundraiser performance will feature a one night only addition of cellist Joan Jeanrenaud, formerly of the Kronos Quartet.

Go to the 5 pm show and eat out afterwards. We had cocktails afterward at Piattini on Mission. The incredible bartender continued our education in bar culture and mixed some wonderful drinks.

MYT remounts its popular 2005 production of Katherine Paterson’s historical novel about a 1850’s Vermont boy caught in a web of racial and class prejudice. Jip knows only that he was left on the side of the road when he was a toddler and brought up on a poor farm. Who are his parents? Where is he from?
