Boring. Went with another couple and the opinion was universal. We each dozed off during the performance.

Went on the first preview. It would be hard to recommend to anyone. Show seemed unsure of what it was trying to be - marketed as a comedy but played much more like a slow-paced wartime drama. Heavy Italian accents have been obtrusively thrust upon...continued

I ALSO WONDER HOW IT MADE IT TO THE STAGE.IT WAS one of 3 worst shows in my experience of 50 years of being a regular theater goer in Manhattan .

I see a lot of theater in the Bay Area, and I had stopped seeing plays at ACT because Carey Perloff, the artistic director, is terrible at choosing relevant, transformative theater pieces. I went to this one with an open mind, hoping to find that...continued

I wanted to like it but It was not a comedy as advertised. I didn't find any of the characters compelling. I was disappointed.

Struggling to see how this ever got to the stage. Acting was ok, but the story itself just didn't develop. I was hoping it would get better during the second act but wasn't to be ... so many scenes with weak dialog. Don't waste your time.

This production has some serious writing issues —
gaps in character plots. The second act focuses on an illness that is not developed in the first act. A daughter has an affair, gets pregnant with no follow through. The huge cast is constantly ...continued

Enjoyed the first half more than the second. After the intermission the piece started to drag and get a bit too serious for my taste. Was a bit of a downer and then all of a sudden it ended. Anticlimactic.

The acting, staging, direction and play itself was outstanding. An extremely important and moving play and production. Thank you ACT and Goldstar. And, when I arrived at the Box Office, I was told that our seats had been "upgraded" from the...continued

Really enjoyed the play. Acting was superb and story was interesting. We were surprised when the tix I purchased (loge) were upgraded to orchestra..and were really good! Thought maybe because it wasn't a full house...but it was! All up, a...continued

Computers went down that day so seating was complicated. Staff worked hard to right this. We wound up with open seating in balcony, some groups went ahead of us as with another system. Play had to start late but everything worked out fine.

It was a lot of fun. Went with my 24 year old niece and we both enjoyed it. More of a comedy/drama (not straight comedy) and the accents were all over the place, but I would recommend it. Our tickets were upgraded and although tickets purchased...continued

C'mon A.C.T.!!I understand the play was in "preview" stage Sunday night, but it wasn't the first preview performance. I expected more from professional actors. It felt like amateur night with flubbed lines, a hammy actor as inspector, bad timing...continued

We were delighted to find that we had outstanding orchestra seats, and that Goldstar handled th reservation seamlessly. The play had its funny and poignant moments but was somewhat dated (havign been created in 1945) and a bit preachy in parts. ...continued

Simple tale of Pride and greed - but at times I felt the lead was more or a Topel and not a Italian father -- Great cast - but more of a sit com
WWII tale --
