Boring, I dont usually laugh at comedians. I need a real life experience to find something funny. I may not be the best judge. I did'nt like it at all. I drove in from San Mateo and braved the weather and drunk drivers to see a show with not one funny thing in it. For me it was a waste of time and I would not go to see it next year. Other people must have felt the same way since when the audience was asked who was here last year there was'nt a response in the house.Written on Jan 03 2011

A fun, relaxed alternative to over-the-top celebrations. The comedians were quite funny and the show was fun from start to end. There were only two downsides: the balloon drop was really only for the orchestra area, not the balcony, and the intermission seemed unnecessary for a 2 hour show.Written on Jan 03 2011

This was a pleasant diversion for a New Years eve. The comedians were diverse and all were competent, but not quite gut-ripping except for the first, an octogenarian with salacious moves.Written on Jan 03 2011

Was at last year's show which I recall as being far superior with more variety. Much of the comedy seemed aimed at white straight males ages 15 to 22. This show seemed to prove that less is not always more.Written on Jan 03 2011

Description
Ring in the New Year with laughs! Not Your Normal New Year's Eve 2011 is a mind-blowing night of stand-up comedy featuring today’s most groundbreaking comedians, a live band, and all topped off with an exciting midnight countdown balloon drop. (Celebrated at 10:00pm, where it's New Year in Normal, IL.)
NYNNYE (“Ninny”) is the brainchild of San Francisco comedian Jill Bourque, who wanted to ring in the New Year with her very favorite comedians. Each are cutting edge comedy artists with their own singular styles.
* Brent Weinbach is one of today’s most original comedians. The East Bay Express says, “Weinbach’s comedy is about poaching characters from real life and inhabiting them that you forget who you’re watching onstage.” He is the winner of the 2007 Andy Kaufman Award, a coveted prize given to promising performers with the potential to impact the evolving culture of comedy.
* Moshe Kasher is an internationally touring comedian and regularly featured guest on E’s Chelsea Lately, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and Comedy Central. He won the prestigious “Best of the Fest” at the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival. Punchline magazine calls him, “One of the most important comedians to watch.”
* Drennon Davis has made a name for himself as one of the most innovative comedians in today’s scene, from elaborate characters and sketches, to his provocative songs and live animation. He recently appeared on NBC’s competitive comedy show Last Comic Standing.
* Lynn Ruth Miller is an audience favorite worldwide. She started stand-up at age 71 and just three years later hit the headlines in Edinburgh at the International Fringe Festival. Now at 77, she’s toured Europe, appeared on America’s Got Talent, and won the People’s Choice Award at the 2009 Branson Comedy Festival.
* Hosted by Jill Borque, who has performed her unique style of improvisational stand-up comedy in nightclubs, festivals, and theaters.
Not Your Normal New Year’s Eve will be presented at the beautiful 900-seat Herbst Theatre, which features dramatic chandeliers, a blue and gold-leaf ceiling, and eight large beaux-arts murals, created by vanguard artist Frank Brangwyn.
