A native of Detroit who attended college in Texas, Loni Love's outspoken brand of comedy has landed her a recurring spot on E!'s Chelsea Lately. She's performed stand-up on The Tonight Show, was a finalist on Star Search and is known for her sharp-witted commentary on shows like Comics Unleashed and VH1's I Love the '70s/'80s/'90s. Her first hour-long special, Loni Love: America's Sister, premiered on Comedy Central in 2010 and has been a hit on DVD. Written on Nov 01 2011This was a great show! I'm so glad we went, although we got there really late. We caught the last 2 comics at least ... and let me tell you, we laughed the whole time. They were superb. I like going to shows like these because you get to see hidden talents you won't see anywhere else ... or at least anywhere mainstream.
We saw Samson Koletkar - the Indian Jew - oh man, the endless potential of jokes! I liked him because he was funny in an intelligent way.
Kabir Singh was the last act for the night. This guy was hilarious. We couldn't stop laughing. He was so funny ... man. I'm glad I had a chance to meet him briefly before the show. He said he was glad we made it even though we were so late. The bouncer that was standing with him informed that he was the main act for the night. I thought he was just some random dude messing with us. Later when he came on stage I was like "Oh snap, he wasn't lying!" He gave us one helluva great show. Very funny guy.
Lastly, let's not forget the event staff. All very friendly, professional, and courteous. Great job at making us feel comfortable despite being late.
Oh, and why were we late, might you ask? Because Bay Area Traffic + San Francisco Parking = HELL

Written on Oct 31 2011Quite entertaining, although one comedian was Lebanese and another was American -- don't see how they fit into the theme. Overall enjoyed a glimpse into the comedic possibilities of being Indian-American!

Raj Sharma began his comedy career in 2002 and has never looked back. His is an original member of The Gurus of Comedy, Pundits with Punchlines, The United Colors of Comedy and Frat Pack Comedy. In 9 years, Raj has worked across America, England and Ireland alongside some of the biggest names in the business including Russell Peters, Maz Jobrani, Daniel Tosh, Pablo Francisco, Bryan Callen and Tom Rhodes. Raj can regularly be found enthralling sold out audiences in nationwide clubs including The Improv, The Comedy Store and Caroline’s on Broadway. Feathers Comedy Club in Sunnyvale, CA, Tommy T's Comedy Club in Pleasanton and also headlined a whole weekend at Pepper Belly's Comedy Club -- all in his first 4 years of doing stand up comedy!!! Kabir was also named in the "Top 5 Comics to Watch" by all 3 major bay area newspapers and has hit the stage at every major comedy club in California.
Your host Sammy Obeid is a UC Berkeley graduate turned stand up comic. Sammy has recently become one of the sharpest, funniest and most versatile stand up comics in the nation. Sammy has opened for Robin Williams, Russell Peters and has performed on 2 national tours. He is also a finalist in the 2010 SF International Stand Up Comedy Competition who's past finalists include Dane Cook, Dana Carvey and many other legends.
Samson Koletkar is the world's only Indian Jewish stand-up comedian. Koletkar has entertained audiences in India, Canada and throughout the U.S. with his cerebral, clean, thought-provoking satire and witty observations. He has also toured with Pundits with Punchlines, Make Chai Not War, and Funatical Comedy Tour. He has been featured on Asian Jewish Life and Indian Express, & has also appeared on HumDesi Radio (Canada) and CBS.
Shanti Cheran is one of the fastest rising comics in the Bay Area and is one of the funniest female Indian Comedians in the U.S! She is a regular at many of the major comedy clubs all over Northern California.
