Pansy: Peter Pan Inspires Contemporary Coming-of-Age Tale
$15.00 - $20.00
$7.50 - $10.00*
The beauty of youth, the corruption of time, a possible escape from death -- the themes of J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan are skillfully woven into Pansy, a coming-of-age saga of a gay man in contemporary San Francisco. When Michael discovers a dusty box of VHS tapes in his basement, he uncovers a portal to an altogether different kind of "Neverland." These tapes, along with audio cassettes and wrinkled party fliers, document the life of "Peter Pansy" a '90s gay club kid who planned a massive party even as he battled illness. The more Michael explores, the more parallels he discovers between himself and this "Lost Boy" of the previous generation. Celebrated writer/performer Evan Johnson (Don't Feel: The Death of Dahmer) stars in this one-man show at New Conservatory Theatre Center.
