Patience Worth (inspired by a true story) is a company commission of a world-premiere play by Pen and Garland Award-winning Bay Area playwright Michelle Carter.
In July 1913, a 17th-century spirit named Patience Worth made her first appearance via ouija board to Pearl Curran, a St. Louis housewife. In the 25 years that followed, Patience Worth would purportedly dictate nearly four million words: seven full-length novels, numerous short stories and plays, thousands of poems, and nine volumes of conversations with hundreds of visitors.
Come see this collaboration between playwright Michelle Carter and director/choreographer Erika Chong Shuch as we explore this literary mystery!
