Of course the songs were great, but the cast was uneven...two of the women were absolutely terrific and would stop the show on any stage on Broadway. Sadly, the other one was just not up to standard or the music. Of the three males, only one was at the professional level of performance. The other two men gave credible though not memorable performances.

Small venue with no bad seats—ideal for this type of show.

A revue chock full of Yip Harburg lyrics (with multiple composers) that warmed my heart, made me think, and tickled my funnybone. Fine cast, wonderful accompaniment, and superlative direction.

About 42nd Street Moon:

42nd Street Moon, based in San Francisco, is one of only four theatre groups in the nation whose mission is to present concert performances of classic Broadway musicals of the 1920s through the 1970s. Since 1993, the organization has mounted five productions every year, and serves a loyal constituency who participate with both regular audience attendance and a solid base of contributed income.

42nd Street Moon makes great musicals sing again by finding and often restoring "lost" classics in staged concert format. Their shows are technically called concerts as the actors hold scripts in-hand throughout the performance. But, each "concert" is staged with full choreography, minimal costumes and set decoration, and accompanied by piano. It is in this way the story, dance, and music can be enjoyed in their purest form at affordable prices for their audience.
