Description

Although grapevines have been cultivated in the area for 200 years, it's really been over the past decade that wines of the Santa Lucia Highlands hit the stratosphere among critics and collectors. The environs coax unique characteristics out of cool climate loving Pinot Noir & Chardonnay and the world has taken notice.

During this session, Crushpad's wine experts will detail the area's history, while exploring the roles of climate & geology in helping influence the style of Pinot Noir coming out of the area. Over the course of the session, guests will taste through a number of different Pinots from the northern and southern sections of the Santa Lucia Highlands.
While many wine classes focus on tasting, these seminars explore how winemaking decisions shape the flavors in your glass. You'll learn to taste from a winemaker's perspective as we unlock the secrets of flavor and texture by tracing each wine from the bottle, back to the barrel, fermentation bin and into the vineyard.
