Jason Collins has gotten plenty of attention throughout his 14-year career in the NBA, but never has the spotlight shone brighter -- or with as much intensity -- as when the basketball star became the first publicly gay athlete to play in any of the four major American pro sports leagues in April 2013. Since coming out, Collins has been prominently featured in the public spotlight (he was featured on the cover of Time magazine's "100 Most Influential People in the World") and has had to endure both the best and the worst of the sports world. Join Collins at the Castro Theatre to hear the unique and courageous story of the man who "made it OK to be gay in sports." Learn More
We took the trolley up Market St. to the Castro. Which was a nice ride. Great for people watching and the street scene. The only draw back is full trolleys and wait time. If you have time it's a great way to enjoy the city experience.Office Space info • Aug 18 2014 star this tip starred

The event was a film of a local dance school's kids performing. A lot was lip-synched and it is not a film that should play at the Castro. It should play at the school's auditorium for their family. The cost of production, costumes and theater rental could be spent better at an inner city school that does not offer these programs or has computers. But that is that schools decision. I left after 40 min. The kids were not talented enough to warrant a film. When they catch up to Shirley Temple and Mickey Rooney, then try again.
