Full of racy puppets and boisterous songs, Avenue Q is a hilarious look at life in New York City, in a world populated by people and puppets. In its Broadway debut, Avenue Q scored the "Triple Crown" of Tony wins, grabbing honors for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. The lovable cast includes characters made of both flesh and felt: recent college grad Princeton, who moves to Avenue Q full of hope for the future, the girl/monster next door (Kate), and a colorful collection of neighbors who help Princeton discover his purpose in life. Cute show. By the name and description, I was under the impression that it was for an older audience, junior high age. The show is really for very young children, 7 or younger I would say. The music was mostly Xmas carols, I was expecting rock-n-roll and a little Cinderella satire. The show is adorable and well done and great if you're entertaining very young children.
Set in the glamorous 1950’s, Cinderella loves to dance, but her evil stepmother and stepsisters never let her have any fun. Rock ‘n Roll Cinderella incorporates well-known tunes, poofy skirts, and a touch of magic!
This is a family matinee show performed by the NCTC teen ensemble and has a running time of 50 minutes. it is great for audiences ages 5 years old and older.
