See Lakers basketball live at the STAPLES Center, as the legendary team hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves on a Wednesday night. The Lakers are led by legendary shooting guard Kobe Bryant, but new head coach Mike Brown has many talented players to work with, including four-time All-Star Pau Gasol, young center Andrew Bynum, and veterans Ron Artest and Derek Fisher. The Timberwolves are a young team led by big man Kevin Love, who came out of UCLA and led the NBA in rebounding last season. Learn More

great, intimate championship event with people from all around the world. definitely a fun experience. kudos to all of the organizers! only tip: public transportation to and from the event could use a little help (i was unfamiliar with the area and had to wait 40 minutes for a bus because the first one simply passed by without stopping, because i was standing in the wrong place!)Written on Aug 18 2008

The event itself was FANTASTIC. However, since they did not post the schedule, I did not choose an appropriate time to attend and wasted the majority of the time I had allocated toward a very casual exhibition game of rollerbasketball. I wanted to watch soccer but only got 30 minutes of our 1.5 hours to do it. The music was invigorating, the emcee entertaining and a bit of eye candy ;) and the sport was amusing (though intimidatingly painful looking). I would definitely recommend attending the event despite these issues. Zackdaddy is an inspiration bringing a new sport onto the playing field. Great work!Written on Aug 18 2008

The most famous soccer player to have played RollerSoccer is Alexi Lalas, President and General Manager LA Galaxy. Alexi says, "I've had the opportunity to play RollerSoccer with these great athletes. It combines elements of two sports I love, soccer and hockey. I'm proud to say that I'm a RollerSoccer player and fan!"

As a summer camp activity, the RSIF has taught RollerSoccer Summer Camps at the Presidio YMCA. The RSIF has partnered with local Bay Area organizations and sponsors such as the Treasure Island YMCA, the Bay Area Women’s Initiative (BAWSI), and Sports Basement, in an effort to reach out to kids in our community to stay active, vibrant and healthy.
