Broadway baby Shoshana Bean first gained fame from her acclaimed roles in Hairspray and Wicked, and followed that up with a sold-out concert appearance at New York's famed Jazz at Lincoln Center. As a solo singer-songwriter, Bean hit the Top 5 on the iTunes R&B charts with her debut disc Superhero. Now she's back with tracks from her sophomore album, O'Farrell Street, a retro soul disc packed with her vintage-inspired originals, as well as covers from classic '60s stars like Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Sam Cooke. Oh Sam I am...you are a ham. Too much talking from autobiographical text and not enough singing. When you did sing - you didn't need 2x microphones in that small room. Face microphone sounded horrible while singing (over modulated). Luckily the handheld was better but you didn't use it enough. The woman in the audience making unnecessary comments was unfortunate. You didn't deserve that treatment.
