A momumental and interesting piece. I think I need to hear it again and become more familiar with it. Soloists were wonderful. I'm really glad we went.

In spite of it being a very painful piece! The performance was exquisite, loved the youth choir and happened to be sitting near the harpist and really appreciated his contribution to the piece. It was clear the performers were absorbed! Looking forward to the Mozart Requiem which is a little gentler on the soul...

Quotes & Highlights
- "When performed well, the great work is capable of cutting to the very heart and soul of humanity. It was indeed done well, and it clearly pierced the sensibilities of its audience. Eyes reddened with tears and handkerchiefs came out by the scores at the end of the performances... audience emotions poured out into an intense standing ovation." --The Daily Review, on the SF Choral society's performance of the War Requiem in 1999
