Dan Hoyle brings his critically-acclaimed hit solo show The Real Americans to the Marsh in Berkeley. After the success of his previous plays Circumnavigator and Tings Dey Happen, Dan Hoyle turned his sights on America. Leaving the liberal bubble of the Bay Area, Hoyle spent 100 days traveling the country in search of a way to bridge the urban/rural political gap. His exploration of the matters that unite and divide the country is funny, poignant and insightful. He's toured the country with it, and it's enjoyed multiple long runs at the Marsh in San Francisco. The trip was excellent and the tour guide, Robin, was engaging. She has a knack for using food to show important scientific concepts, thereby making them palatable. She explained the seismology of the Bay Area through the rocks we could find in San Francisco, and relayed historical tidbits about the city's past, especially the 1906 Earthquake and Fire. The final rock formation that she showed us was nothing short of fascinating.
Wear comfortable shoes, and dress for the weather. Don't forget to bring some water to stay hydrated!
The suggested minimum age for this tour is 10.
