"Pride is a luxury a Woman in Love, Can't afford..."

When I read that the San Francisco Symphony was going to play selections from Rodgers & Hammerstein's greatest works, accompanied by clips from the film versions, I had no idea that the actual vocal tracks from the movies, featuring Julie Andrews, Yul Brynner, Deborah Kerr (Marni Nixon), Shirley Jones and Gordon MacCrae would be played in perfect synchonization! What a unique experience! What glorious melodies! What a great "Pops"! Some enchanted evening, for sure.

The performance was fun and i was grinning from ear to ear the entire time. My friend and i took my dad for his birthday and it brought back memories for him growing up and for us watching the videos as kids and dancing around the house.

I loved the event from the beginning to the end. It was a bonus to see the clippings from the movies as each piece of music was playing .
Excellent performance and the conductor's introduction of the music was exceptional and educational.

About Davies Symphony Hall:

Completed in September, 1980 after more than two years of construction, Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall is the home of the San Francisco Symphony.

During the summer of 1992, Davies Symphony Hall underwent a major renovation, enhancing its acoustics to ensure an even better musical experience, and making an already stunning interior more beautiful still.

The San Francisco Symphony's home owes its name to the efforts and perseverance of Mrs. Louise M. Davies, the largest individual contributor to the building.
