The "Godfather of EDM" Morton Subotnick makes music lovers an offer they can't refuse, performing his seminal work From Silver Apples of the Moon to a Sky of Cloudless Sulphur IV: Lucy live as part of the Sweet Thunder Festival of Electro-Acoustic Music. A true pioneer in the then avant-garde field, Subotnick was one of the first to work with Don Buchla's break-through synthesizer, dubbed the Electric Music Box. The resulting Nonesuch Records disc, 1967's Silver Apples of the Moon, was recently inducted into the prestigious U.S. National Recording Registry. Subotnick himself is still actively composing and racking up lifetime achievement awards, after winning a Guggenheim Fellowship, three Rockefeller Grants, ASCAP's John Cage Award and more. Learn More

I loved this event and I will certainly go again next year. Very well done. Tons of wine to taste and it really is limitless. The event people must have read the reviews from last year because this time they provided a nice keepsake wine glass made of actual glass. Although they might regret this because people started dropping (breaking) them by the end of the event. As with last year, they still need many more food options. And my only complaint for this year is that they need couches and chairs for people to sit and enjoy the wine. There were hardly any chairs. One winery had small tables and chairs. Yet the event should provide more chairs for everyone. The view at Fort Mason is wonderful as well. Loved the event!
