I had a great time with 3 of my girlfriends. We had a great brunch, and views of the SF bay to Sausalito. Even though it was raining out, we were very warm and comfy in the cabin. We went outside when the wind and rain died down and enjoyed the views from up there. I am probably going to attend another brunch or dinner cruise for another holiday because the price is actually affordable when I purchase tickets through Goldstar!

By the way, if you are going with A GROUP of people of any size, purchase your tickets all in ONE TRANSACTION so you will be seated all together.

I had read mixed reviews on the Hornblower tours and was intending to take my Mother for Christmas day so I did a dry run on 30th Nov (Santa Brunch Cruise)

Overall : Very good. Will be going back.

PROs : The boat was very comfortable (heated inside, didn't rock about a lot, easy to go outside if you wanted, good washrooms). Food was good, buffet was well organised (They invited you up table by table to avoid long lines). Buffet was constantly stocked. Champagne was good and freely flowing. Hostess was multi talented (played piano, sung, gave commentary on sites) and good fun. We got a very good deal booking through GoldStar.

CONs : Boarding info said to be there at 10.30, however we didn't board till after 11am. (As it turned out it was a great weather day so it wasn't a big deal but if it had been colder or raining, you would have been standing outside getting cold and wet --> not good). As we boarded we were cattle herded towards Santa in order to have our photo taken. These photos then turned up later for sale at 20USD, which is really too much. I don't have a problem with the operation offering this service, but we felt forced into it. When I asked if I could not have my picture taken and just get onboard I was grudgingly allowed to which isn't the best way to start off the experience.

Did this cruise with my wife and teenage daughter, and we enjoyed it immensely. Although we were expecting mediocre food from our past experiences with dinner cruise activities such as this, the brunch here was of excellent quality, and included typical breakfast fare along with roast beef, an assortment of desserts and plenty of champagne. The ship, including restrooms, was exceptionally clean. The cruise staff was friendly and attentive, the piano player did a wonderful job; even our photos with Santa turned out beautifully. The bay cruise included photo-pauses at the Golden Gate, Alcatraz and several additional spots, with accompanying announcements that we found informative. We visit San Francisco often, and typically shy away from "arranged" group activities - preferring to explore on our own. But this cruise surely ranks as one of our most memorable SF experiences yet. Highly recommended.
