I had a great time with 3 of my girlfriends. We had a great brunch, and views of the SF bay to Sausalito. Even though it was raining out, we were very warm and comfy in the cabin. We went outside when the wind and rain died down and enjoyed the views from up there. I am probably going to attend another brunch or dinner cruise for another holiday because the price is actually affordable when I purchase tickets through Goldstar!
By the way, if you are going with A GROUP of people of any size, purchase your tickets all in ONE TRANSACTION so you will be seated all together.

I had read mixed reviews on the Hornblower tours and was intending to take my Mother for Christmas day so I did a dry run on 30th Nov (Santa Brunch Cruise)
Overall : Very good. Will be going back.
PROs : The boat was very comfortable (heated inside, didn't rock about a lot, easy to go outside if you wanted, good washrooms). Food was good, buffet was well organised (They invited you up table by table to avoid long lines). Buffet was constantly stocked. Champagne was good and freely flowing. Hostess was multi talented (played piano, sung, gave commentary on sites) and good fun. We got a very good deal booking through GoldStar.
CONs : Boarding info said to be there at 10.30, however we didn't board till after 11am. (As it turned out it was a great weather day so it wasn't a big deal but if it had been colder or raining, you would have been standing outside getting cold and wet --> not good). As we boarded we were cattle herded towards Santa in order to have our photo taken. These photos then turned up later for sale at 20USD, which is really too much. I don't have a problem with the operation offering this service, but we felt forced into it. When I asked if I could not have my picture taken and just get onboard I was grudgingly allowed to which isn't the best way to start off the experience.

Top Useful Tips
Tips are provided by Goldstar members and Hornblower Cruises and Events San Francisco. Goldstar is not responsible for their content or accuracy.
Dress
- We dressed up - nicer than church clothes - but there were others there as casual as jeans.
- This is a bay cruise on a ship, so deck or tennis shoes are appropriate.
- We dressed extra warm, good thing cuz it's freezing on deck!
Parking And Transportation
- Pakring is available for $10 right inside the arched entryway to the pier.
- A 5-minute cab ride from our hotel near Union Square.
- I sugguest taking bart it is cheaper then parking and toll and not that far from the Pier
Food And Drinks
- The food is so much better than I expect of a buffet brunch. Thanks Hornblower's!
- We did not have to ask for the champagne. It was free flowing and very good.
- Champagne is included in the price, but note we had to ask our waiter to break it out.
Other
- Purchase your tickets all in one transaction to be seated all together.
