Depression-era Hollywood comes alive in a snappy new musical set to the timeless songs of the era. The first world premier from 42nd Street Moon, Painting the Clouds With Sunshine is packed with classic tunes by the likes of Oscar Hammerstein, Johnny Mercer, Dorothy Fields, Frank Loesser, Rodgers and Hart, and more. Favorites like "Jeepers Creepers," "Sing You Sinners," "Good Morning Glory," "Marahuana," "You Oughta Be in Pictures" and "Dusty Shoes" tell the story of a jaded newsman and a struggling waitress trying to find romance in glittery Tinseltown, as the "talking picture musicals" help the country escape hard times. The Black Version is a brand new and completely improvised comedy show at the Groundlings Theater created by Groundling alum Jordan Black. The show features an all African American cast of Jordan Black, Keegan Michael-Key, Cedric Yarbrough, Gary Anthony Williams, Daniele Gaither, and Phil LaMarr and directed by Karen Maruyama. They've also had special guest performers such as Wayne Brady, Nyima Funk and Angela V. Shelton. They have already performed to all sold out houses at the Groundlings Theater since opening in the summer of 2010.
