Members Who Went Said:What a blast! So many unique places packed together you would never see in one day. You get the insiders look at the city with a hilarious cast. Great two and half hours!
Debbie A great way to see the city. Very creative and fun experience!
Mangohappiness An energetic tour of some of the City's most visually and sensory-stimulating locations around Chinatown and North Beach, this interactive performance is played out by a fresh, talented cast reprising the popular theme of Goldrush-era intrigue. With a surface glaze of history, it is really a romp and most suited for those who are imaginative, playful and are not shy about engaging in banter with the cast; others might feel dragged-along although the walking part itself is great exercise and the locale entertaining. Included snacks could have been less bland.

Event Highlights
More Details About This Event: Shanghai San Francisco, the audience-driven theatrical adventure, is bringing the celebrated San Francisco arts scene into the streets. In this live choose-your-own-adventure, you are the star of the show.
It's not a play, though you will be a player. It's not a tour, though you will be walking. When the performance begins, the audience learns that a San Francisco native has been shanghaied (kidnapped) and are called upon to save her from her fate out at sea. Instead of sitting in a theater, the audience embarks on a two-hour mission through the city, seeking out actors on the streets, in charming native bars and in swanky hideaway restaurants. Shanghai San Francisco is the only experience of its kind, inviting you to see the city from an entirely new perspective, all the while tasting local food and drink. Just remember to watch out for the Bowery Hounds roaming the streets, because in Shanghai San Francisco, you could be next.... Created and produced by Joseph Tomasini and Phoebe Lehr. |
