Uncork the Chianti: San Francisco's Castro Theatre presents a screening of the psycho-thriller Silence of the Lambs. Hosted by Peaches Christ, the event features a live pre-show musical performance of The Silence of the Trans starring Ms. Christ as Trannibal Lector, the Midnight Mass Players, and Sharon Needles, America's favorite spooky drag queen, as Buffalo Jill. Fans remember Needles as the Season 4 winner of RuPaul's Drag Race on Logo. Dress up in your best drag ensemble for the "Serial Killer" Costume Contest, because there are prizes "gore-lore" up for the taking. In addition, Needles will meet and greet fans during an autograph-signing session during the event.

Sharon was awesome. The others, not so much. However, Lady Bear was a pleasant surprise and her scenes in the hole with Precious were awesome. With a little more practice, acting and voice lessons, and actual scenery, this could actually be a masterwork...

Campy fun, there were some sound issues, but it was great to see Sharon Needles!

High Jinx camp comedy at its creative best. Peaches Christ and company put the E in entertainment. Sharon Needles was a true star but the entire cast was awesome with great comic timing. The cocktails were fabulous too. I love the movie which has some of my all time favorite lines but it was kind of lackluster after the hysterical preshow.

Description

Written Jared Webster and Joshua Grannell, who also directs, The Silence of the Trans pre-show musical plunges deep into the adventures of FBI agent Clarice Starlet (Suppositori Spelling), who must save the amply-sized Catherine Martin (Lady Bear) from the clutches of serial killer Buffalo Jill (Sharon Needles). Clarice seeks advice from “tran-nibalistic” killer Trannibal Lector (Peaches Christ) but will she find Catherine before the plus-sized beauty becomes Buffalo Jill’s new couture “body” suit? The event will feature eye-popping performances from Visantos as “The Narrator,” Mrs. Christ (Peaches Christ’s real mother) and also includes Timmy Spence, Cousin Wonderlette, Raya Light and Trixxie Carr as herself. With choreography by Rory Davis and original music by Trixxie Carr, The Silence of the Trans is a delectable experience you’ll never forget!
