Smooth Soul at the Rrazz Room With the Dramatics
- Full Price:
- $50.00
- Our Price:
- $25.00
Enjoy some classic smooth soul and quiet storm R&B in the sophisticated and intimate setting of the Rrazz Room, one of San Francisco's premiere night clubs. In their early '70s heyday, the Dramatics were an anomaly: a Detroit singing group signed not to their famed hometown label, Motown, but to the legendary Southern soul label Stax/Volt. Their sound, as heard on hit singles like "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get" and "In the Rain," straddles both worlds, combining the Temptations-like silky-smooth harmonies of Motown with the earthiness of Memphis-style soul. Still performing after more than 40 years, the group features veteran member L.J. Reynolds along with Willie Ford, Donald Albert and Winzell Kelly. Learn More

He is a consummate professional with a full half century of professional singing under his belt. I'd seen him at the Venetian Room, Fairmont Hotel as a child. My Dad took me and my mother there for dinner and a show. He was at the height of his stardom then having had several hit records. It was enjoyable to here him sing and to see his video clips reminiscing of many of the showbiz greats he has performed with. His wife was very lovely and friendly afterwards in the lobby helping with the cds.Written on Jan 19 2012

Jack jones' voice is still excellent. He was very personable and I was fortunate to have a photo taken with him. The room was intimate albeit the Rrazz room trying to fit as many people into the room as they couldWritten on Jan 23 2012
-it was a bit tight between audience members. It was a bonus to see Robin Williams in the audience there to see his long time friend perform. Bring Jack Jones back ASAP!!!!!

Love the Rrazz room. Very sophisticated and intimate venue with great viewing. Prices for your 2-drink minimum are reasonable. They also have munchies that won't break the bank. You can park in parking lot across the street, or take Bart in and walk a couple of blocks to the hotel.Written on Jan 23 2012

Description
Legendary singer Jack Jones, best known for his Grammy-winning vocals for “Wives and Lovers” and “Lollipops and Roses”, releases the next chapter in his long history of making hits, Love Makes the Changes: The Lyrics of Alan & Marilyn Bergman.
Jack Jones, noted the "best jazz singer in the world," by Judy Garland, "the greatest 'pure' singer in the world" by Mel Torme and "one of the major singers of our time" by Frank Sinatra, is one of the most recognizable artists in the world. During the '60s, Jack released his first of many hits "Lollipops and Roses," soon followed by "Wives and Lovers," "She," "The Race is On," "What I Did for Love" and the Grammy-nominated "Impossible Dream" which paved the way for a musical career spanning over five decades and encompassing more than sixty albums including the Grammy nominated, Jack Jones Paints a Tribute to Tony Bennett.
Love Makes the Changes: The Lyrics of Alan and Marilyn Bergman, his first release in 10 years, was created as a tribute to the lives and shared love of Jack's good friends and celebrated songwriters, Alan & Marilyn Bergman. During their distinguished career, their songs have been nominated for sixteen Academy Awards, for which they have won three: "The Windmills of Your Mind", in 1968; "The Way We Were" in 1973; and the score for Yentl in 1984. Among their songs, for Frank Sinatra "Nice & Easy"; for Ray Charles "In the Heat of the Night"; for Fred Astaire, "That Face", "You Don't Bring Me Flowers", "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?", "So Many Stars" and "Where Do You Start."
