Smooth Soul at the Rrazz Room With the Dramatics
- Full Price:
- $50.00
- Our Price:
- $25.00
Enjoy some classic smooth soul and quiet storm R&B in the sophisticated and intimate setting of the Rrazz Room, one of San Francisco's premiere night clubs. In their early '70s heyday, the Dramatics were an anomaly: a Detroit singing group signed not to their famed hometown label, Motown, but to the legendary Southern soul label Stax/Volt. Their sound, as heard on hit singles like "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get" and "In the Rain," straddles both worlds, combining the Temptations-like silky-smooth harmonies of Motown with the earthiness of Memphis-style soul. Still performing after more than 40 years, the group features veteran member L.J. Reynolds along with Willie Ford, Donald Albert and Winzell Kelly. Learn More

Vonda was warm and engaging with the audience. We enjoyed the spectrum of tunes. Would have given 5 stars but for the problems with the sound system - the crew never really totally fixed everything. But we had great evening at the Rrazz - it is a fun place to go.Written on Aug 11 2010

What a disappointment. First, the concert began 10-15 minutes late and only lasted about an hour. Second, the sound was unbalanced so that her piano drowned out her voice. Enormous thanks to the man who stood up and said, "Vonda: all we can hear is Mr. Baldwin" - so it was adjusted thereafter. Third, and most importantly, she only sang a couple of songs from her Ally McBeal songbook and instead performed several similar-sounding songs that she wrote. Too bad: since her renditions of many songs are so stupendous! When she gave us background on certain of her songs, it helped but otherwise it was pretty uninspired and uninspiring. Bah.Written on Feb 27 2012

Vonda was great and she brought with her great talent as back up. I always knew she has a beautiful voice, but the surprise was her positive energy and crowd interaction. My husband and I really enjoyed the show and had a great evening. We ordered the Kobe beef sliders and they were fabulous, as were their vodka martinis.Written on Aug 12 2010
The only drawback was with the venue's audio...there were a few problems that weren't handled to my expectations. The venue is quite intimate, which is nice and we will attend more shows there. Maybe it was just an off night with the audio.
