Using the same wine as contestants on PBS's The Winemakers, you'll get an insider's perspective on how wines are blended in this session focused on Syrah and the red Rhone varietals. During this two-hour session, you'll be guided through the same steps used to create blends for the luxury wines produced in Crushpad Winery. Plus, compare the blends you've created against the wine put together by the winner of season one of The Winemakers. No experience necessary. Learn More

Wonderful event- great for couples (dating, mother/daughter, whatever). The cooking is pretty light, as you're drinking plenty of wine. The class began with a tour of the winery/wine-making at crushpad and included a ton of explanation about the process and tasting; after which, we were handed off to a team of chefs, split into teams of about 5 (about 30 people total), to each make an appetizer. The wine pairing was pretty casual (meaning, you weren't guided to actually taste a different wine as you tasted each dish), but several wines were brought around throughout the course of the evening. Overall a fantastic evening and a wonderful treat that I would certainly do again!

This is a good event, definitely a fun night out...I would offer though that the winery portion was on the long side - we were expecting to get to the cooking portion much sooner. If the winery tour was shorter, it would have received all 4 stars!
