Reviews & Ratings
Rhythm reigns supreme in Michael Smuin’s first world premiere of the season, Obrigado, Brazil (Thank You, Brazil). Set to vibrant South American music by Yo-Yo Ma and an all-star ensemble of Brazilian musicians, it’s an exotic journey through classical, samba and bossa nova beats.
Smuin Ballet’s in-house choreographer, the critically acclaimed Amy Seiwert, will present her eagerly anticipated world premiere of Revealing the Bridge.
Rounding out this exciting program is the return of Shinju, one of Michael Smuin’s most powerful works based on an 18th century Japanese play about two star-crossed lovers.
