Best known as a contestant on CBS' Rock Star: Supernova and as a member of the genre-crossing band Pink Martini, singer Storm Large has a voice that is equally affective crooning a ballad or belting out a rock anthem. For her concerts at Feinstein's, she'll reunite with her band Le Bonheur. After getting her start as part of the cult Portland band the Balls, Large has branched out into theater and cabaret, performing in her acclaimed off-Broadway one-woman show Crazy Enough and in Randy Newman's Harps and Angels. Her single "Ladylike," featuring Jane's Addiction's Dave Navarro, debuted at No. 5 on Billboard's Hot Singles Sales chart. A versatile stylist, she's performed with everyone from John Doe, Rufus Wainwright and George Clinton to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, and has appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Spencer continues on his musical path to give his audiences a satisfying and rewarding performance. The Friday evening room was packed and everyone was thrilled with his great song set, demonstrating Spencer's many talents as a singer, composer, arranger and pianist (would have liked more at the keyboard). His own musicians with the locals were very impressive. Performing a song he wrote with his guitarist that afternoon was a special treat. A nice balance of his songs with the American songbook made the evening exciting! I hope he will return very soon and bring his joy to SF.
