A five-time Latin Grammy-winner who picked up his latest in 2013 for the album Soy Flamenco, famed guitar master Tomatito brings his sextet to San Francisco for a performance featuring the exciting young dancer Paloma Fantova. Known for his abundant stage charisma and impeccable musical technique -- not to mention his long wavy locks -- Tomatito accompanied legendary flamenco singer Camarón de la Isla for two decades until his death in '92. The man born as José Fernández Torres has also collaborated with artists as varied as Elton John, Frank Sinatra, Chick Corea and more. Experience an artist the Miami Herald declared "one of Spain's greatest guitarists" live at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre. Learn More

A very very strange mix--first half was community theater feeling rather odd melange of stuff (the chicken dance, russian dance, hindu dance), then a break and then a wildly inappropriate burlesque, sort of punk ethos circus with cocaine references and half naked semi s and m vibe whips on fire. Ah, only in San Francisco. Luckily my six year old missed all the rather dated anarchist/sex vibes and loved the whole thing, but it was a bizarrely badly configured event.
