Sunday Double Feature: The Right Thing and What About Ben
See two plays for the price of one with this special Sunday double feature event from 3Girls Theatre and in between, party with the founders of the theater company at a special reception. The performances start with a late matinee showing of AJ Baker's The Right Thing, a provocative twist on a legal whodunit in which a female CEO fired for sexual harassment fights back in a high-stakes mediation. Enjoy the reception with 3Girls' founders Suze Allen, AJ Baker and Lee Brady, and then attend an evening performance of Lee Brady's What About Ben?. This one-woman musical inspired by the life of real life folk singer, LaWanda, features original songs and music by veteran Bay Area actress Marie Shell who plays the lead, Coralynn. Coralynn is a feisty widow ready to try her hand at love again, but the prudish neighbors have opinions about her decision to move the handsome tree trimmer into the house her former husband built for her.

About the Ticket Supplier: 3Girls Theatre Company3Girls Theatre Company is putting "women's work onstage ... where it belongs." Surveys tell us that the small percentage of works by women playwrights produced in the mainstream American theater is roughly the same today as it was a century ago. We at 3Girls Theatre aren't interested in debating the politics of this problem. We're just interested in solving it.
Our not-for-profit start-up company has a singular mission: to promote, nurture and produce the work of local women playwrights of all ages through our annual Festivals, Theatre Lab and GirlWrights youth theater program. Founded by Resident Playwrights Suze Allen, AJ Baker and Lee Brady, we are a company of women writers, supporting one another and collaborating to bring our best work to the stage. Join us on our journey!
