Set on a stage inspired by the giant turtle that represents earth's origins in many ancient civilizations, and drawing inspiration from various creation myths, TOTEM's characters evolve through mind-blowing acrobatics and stunning visual displays, exploring the ties between all Earth's species and the dreams and infinite potential of humanity. The best way to describe this event is: Moulin Rouge meets Cirque du Soleil while your dining!Written on Oct 11 2009
The setting is a very intimate Euro-Caberet/Circus feel. The show included audience participation- which never fails to lessen the entertainment.
The food was "so-so", it was a "brunch" show so we didn't expect the portion sizes to larger than they were serving. Just don't leave your house starving because the food won't pacify your hunger. :)
Drinks were kind of pricey $15 average per cocktail.
Even though the prices were high, it didn't put a damper on the entertainment. We loved it and I encourage everyone to see it if you get the opportunity!
As Theatro Zinzanni would say "Love, Chaos, and Dinner"...

A fun, funny and immersive three hours of high quality entertainment. From the moment you walk in, you are caught up in the magic. The place itself is beautiful, and the performers are top-notch. The "Maitre d'" and "Ricky" are glorious fun - fearless interactive performers. Geoff Hoyle is an unalloyed delight, and the aerialists are breathtaking. There wasn't a wrong note. The food was good, the libations splendid and the service delightful. I can't wait to go to dinner!Written on Oct 12 2009

I took my friend and his partner, for his birthday.Written on Sep 28 2009
I love the idea, and the venue, however this being my second time there I was expecting more. We were seated promptly, as we arrived at the last minute (muni streetcars are rather slow on Market on weekends... leave early) but had to wait awhile to place a drink order. ( I could have gone to the bar, but was expecting the show to start.)
I felt the meal portions could have been more generous. They were 'adequate', I suppose, but not filling if youre hungry. I would not recommend skipping breakfast before the show or you may leave hungry.
My friends did not touch the dessert, I ate mine because it was sweet and I was still hungry. The coffee cups disappeared off the table when we ordered our drinks, and i was dissapointed that I did not get the cup of coffee that was 'included with dessert'.
The entertainment was delightful, however much of the show was the same as it was several years ago when I went for dinner. I guess i was expecting a different story for brunch.
The table bill for drinks and service was more than expected also.
The three of us went to Il Fornaio afterwards and our whole lunch was less than the drinks and service tab at Zinzanni.
It wasnt an unpleasant experience, we had fun and enjoyed the show, however I'm grateful for the Goldstar difference. I think I would have been much less happy had I paid full price.
I still think its a special event, a place to bring friends who havent seen the show. My friends seemed to enjoy themselves.

We had the most excellent time at the Teatro Zinzanni Breve show! I paid for general admission, but for some unknown reason we were seated at the very best table in the entire tent! The quality of acting, singing, acrobatics, aerial dance, and music was 100% top notch. The food was disappointingly mediocre (thus the 4, not 5, star rating). The Breve show is an abbreviated version of whatever production they are currently running; in our case, "Hearts On Fire."Written on Apr 05 2010
