Con Funk Shun delivers an exciting, high-energy show featuring electrifying choreography, beautiful six-part vocal harmonies and a dash of humor. These heroes of funk come correct with driving beats, memorable melodies, inventive horn arrangements and guitar grooves, but also perform romantic ballads and dance-party hits. The band was founded in 1969 in Vallejo, but relocated to Memphis to work with Stax Records where they charted four consecutive gold records and one platinum with a slew of hit singles '77-'86. Co-founder Michael Cooper continues to lead a band that shows no signs of slowing down. Learn More

The combination of Terese and Kim was awesome. Both were in fine form and voice and the song selection was terrific. Always a pleasure to see the Little Big Band!Written on Dec 15 2008

Terese Genecoo is another reason to be thankful living in the Bay Area. Her talents go far beyond 'big band' singing with her great arrangements surrounded by seven of the most creative musicians in the area! An upbeat show with fun and excitement highlighted by a great song list performed with incredible arrangements. The audience roared, even at a show that started at 10:30PM in the new attractive RAAZZ ROOM in the Hotel Nikko.Written on Mar 03 2008

Description
Terese Genecco is the Bay Area's reigning "Entertainer of the Year," a 2007 Backstage Bistro Award Winner, a 2006 and 2007 MAC award (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) nominee, and and her two award-winning shows, "Drunk With Love: A Tribute To Frances Faye!" and "Drunk With Love: The Sequel" were named to Time Out New York's Top Ten Best lists for 2006 and 2007.
Genecco is best known for her award-winning performances (with her seven-piece Little Big Band) in her own jazz, musical creation, "Drunk with Love: A Tribute to Frances Faye." This show made its world premiere in San Francisco, where it opened at the New Conservatory Theatre Center in July 2005, and ran for five consecutive weeks, before moving to New York City for multiple engagements at The Encore Showroom, Jazz @ Lincoln Center, The Iridium Jazz Club, and more than a dozen performances at Manhattan's nightclub newcomer, The Metropolitan Room.
Genecco has performed in major venues around the San Francisco Bay Area, including Jazz at Pearl's, The Empire Plush Room, The Purple Onion, COPIA, The New Conservatory Theatre Center, ODC Theater, Kelly’s of Alameda, Octavia Lounge, and The Herbst Theater. In New York, she has performed at Jazz @ Lincoln Center, Birdland, the Iridium Jazz Club, The Metropolitan Room, and The Encore Showroom. She has also appeared in Los Angeles at Club Ten20, The Gardenia, and The M Bar.
Genecco's Little Big Band roster changes regularly, but these are the masterful musicians you are most likely to see on stage with her: Mike Greensill, Tammy Hall, and Barry Lloyd sharing duties with Terese at the piano; Daniel Fabricant and Fred Randolph on bass; Randy Odell, Kelly Park, and Brian Fishler on drums; The legendary Jack Costanzo and Jacob Lawlor on Latin percussion; Rich Armstrong and Ellen Seeling on trumpet; Tony Malfatti, Fil Lorenz, and Jean Feinberg on tenor sax; and Max Perkoff and Mara Fox on trombone.
