Part scavenger hunt, part obstacle course and all fun, POGO Events' The Amazing San Francisco Scavenger Hunt is a fast-paced team adventure game that lets adults experience the City by the Bay in a whole new way. As in CBS' hit television show The Amazing Race, groups of two to four people set out on the streets of San Francisco to perform a series of physical and mental challenges in a race to the finish line. Challenges on the route include locating specific hidden spots around the city, snapping photos of designated people or objects, figuring out puzzles and performing certain tasks to get around roadblocks. A smartphone is handy to have, but a digital camera and cell phone per team will do. You'll also need ID -- and feel free to bring along a San Francisco street map and/or guidebook.

Get a group of team members that are current in today's technology and off you go for a fun day of searching for items and places in various areas of SF.

The only comment is that when an end time is stated that if a team comes in 15 late that they get elimlinated, not given first place for their extra points.

our team had a whole lotta fun. The race was challenging so everyone was able to figure out clues and find the extra credit questions on smart phones. A good time was had by all- and we came in 2nd place!

This event was loads of fun. The planners gave us clues that were not obvious , yet not impossible. A little bit of research on a smart phone (essential), and some local knowledge with some common sense and any team can compete and enjoy themselves. The starting and ending location, although a nice site, could have been a little more spacious and organized.

Goldstar is awesome for exposing me to this cool event and I'm really happy I bought tickets at 50%. Goldstar advertised the event as an "amazing race" and as a big fan of the tv show I assumed/hoped it would be a mini version of the tv show. Sadly, it was just a picture scavenger hunt but it was still fun nonetheless. This is a fun scavenger hunt around the city. You win by getting as many points as you can. Basically, you take team pictures with as many of the items on the lists and make sure to get to the end destination on time. I couldn't imagine doing this race without a smartphone.

If you want a fun enjoying the ":happening" places of S.F., this is the game for you. Great way to get to know some of the best areas of the city. We had a blast! The game is well thought out, there is very little to not love about the day. Two things I would suggest to the company...get a better way to figure out the scors at the end of the day. Took way too long, and we all got antsy, not to mention COLD. Also, we got only about a week's notice that teams should come dressed as themes. It would have been nice to have had more time to plan. Other than that, I highly highly recommend the game. Wear comfy shoes, and be ready to hustle if you indeed come to WIN!

Good concept, but not executed as I anticipated. It was just an ordinary scavenger hunt and had very little to do with The Amazing Race. I expected some challenges, like the television show. We literally only went looking for famous sites (like a statue at the ferry building)or people who fit certain descriptions (like a person with a sleeve tattoo or a person in a 49ers jersey). I also would have preferred to not get all of the information at the beginning, but have it where you get information as you find certain items or complete certain challenges.

Great fun. Exhausting! Covered at least 5 miles of SF on foot searching for clues and racing to bring back proof. No big, scary challenges like the version on TV. But a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the city.

It was one of those rare days on a weekend where it was gloriously hot and beautiful in SF. I thought this race was a bit on the disheveled side with a huge dash of disorganization. First prize were a couple of hideous T-shirts... or was it just one? Shrug. $17.50 per person from Goldstar for this race... pretty pricey for what you get. Would I do it again? No.

For extra points, they were supposed to be at the ferry building to administer some tasks but they had left early (over 10 minutes). Luckily, my team and I no longer cared to finished the race. We did get a couple of good pictures and decided to enjoy the weather, drink a couple of yummy vanilla Manhattans with REAL cherries (not the fake, preserved, bright red, glow in the dark ones) and then walk to the metreon to watch a movie. :) What a wonderful day.

Photo scavenger hunt that takes you around a good part of San Francisco. Lots of walking so although it is open to all ages, it may not be the best option if you're not at least partly fit. You have the option to take public transit around but on a Sunday, they are either really packed or infrequent. Those with a smart phone definitely have a huge advantage so it would've been nice for them to have a smart phone others can use at the departure location to look up some things before leaving to even out the playing field for everyone.

Our team had a great time running around San Francisco. We learned things about the city we didn't know and met a lot of great tourists who were really good sports. We also liked having the freedom to be creative on the photo clues. We'd definitely recommend it to anyone and look forward to other types of races in the future.
