This is a marvelous theatre experience! The play is fast paced, laden with poetical references and rhyme and extremely well acted. The playwright best known for The HiistoryBoys, started with Beyond The Fringe and Dudley Moorehas created a...continued

Interesting and enjoyable play within a play. The scene is the dress rehearsal of a play about an imaginary meeting between WH Auden and Benjamin Britten in 1972. This is the first time that they have seen one another in 25 years. Despite a...continued

A fascinating, complicated, sexy, funny, difficult, rewarding show! Extraordinary performances, particular by the lead actor playing an actor who is playing a late-in-life W.H. Auden in the play-within-a-play. The venue was lovely, with friendly...continued

Excellent acting, confident and convincing performances all round. The "play within a play" format can be a bit tedious -- and this format caused things to drag a bit toward the end. But overall this is a very fine piece beautifully performed --...continued

For such a long play it's really well paced and engaging. Through multiple layers of scene within a scene, reminiscent of Vanya on 42nd St, it explores the interesting theme of how to characterize a person, Auden, without characterizing. Well...continued

I thought this was a very good show with some great acting. I was impressed and for the price and the venue this is one of the shows to see. Entertaining and interesting.

First time I left a performance at the intermission - I enjoy Alan Bennett's plays but I found this story boring and although billed as a comedy I was not amused. Good actors but the thought of staying for the second act did not appeal to me.

The actor who played Britten is Greg Kinnear's identical twin. They must be related - the resemblance is absolutely eerie. The performances I enjoyed the most were the stage manager, Auden and the rent boy. I found the playwright difficult to...continued

Great play, well cast, nice venue. I've enjoyed Bennett's other works and this holds up well in his fine tradition. Highly recommend this production.
Also, went to the Brite Spot Cafe at 17th and Folsom...excellent meal and service. Don't let...continued

A very energetic performance, unexpected format, and rare view into an artist's personal life. Though well crafted and performed , it is a bit lengthy .

All actors did a splendid job in keeping one engaged and interested. Great show and impressive performance. A fascinating play, and one which is infused with human sympathy, and affectionate humour. The gist of the play - a play within a play in...continued

A comedy where the audience didn't laugh much
Hope Theatre Rhino can afford to hire a director for it's next production
