There were four of us. We knew they were not the original "Irish Tenors". We all enjoyed the program very much. We thought there was the perfect mixture of Irish and Holiday songs. This concert helped get us in a Holiday mood. Just what we all were looking for. We say excellent.

I am rarely disappointed, but the performance last night was a rip off. They were not the group I expected, they were probably exhausted from being on tour, but that is not what I paid for. The evening was flat, emotionless and very disappointing. I was better off listening the the real group on YOU TUBE. There was no program to compare the names/songs, and the most minimalist introduction and farewell. Songs were not even introduced.

The ORCHESTRA and conductor were great. With the exception of one tenor (on the far right) the tenors were nearly frozen in their performance, however. They seemed to be phoning the songs in, with very llittle emotion--but plenty of virtuostic vocal technique. It's like an exquisite dancer doing all the right moves, showing off their skill, but not moving the viewer except to say "very skillful."
Their repertopire was varied, but their performance style, stagnant, with "Ave Maria,", Take Me Home Again Kathleen" and "Jingle Bell Rock" sung in the same operatic style.
Again, the orchestra was wonderful--great conducting.
Sorry for the pan review--

More Details
Since they first joined voices in 1998, The Irish Tenors have made countless traditional treasures breathe with new life. Moreover, they've proven themselves gifted interpreters of a wide range of material, with such songs as "My Heart Will Go On" (made famous by Celine Dion), "Fairytale Of New York" (previously recorded by Kirsty MacColl and The Pogues) and even Jimmy Kennedy's "South Of The Border (Down Mexico Way)". These songs live comfortably in their repertoire alongside "Danny Boy", "My Wild Irish Rose" and "Fields Of Athenry". In September 2005, Razor & Tie released their latest album, "Sacred, A Spiritual Journey", featuring a wide range of spiritual material and inspirational songs.
