Much better than the version I saw in Orange County. The lead actress was phenomenal and really anchored the other content in the show.

A really enjoyable evening. I didn't like every aspect of the script, but some of the scenes are brilliant, the actors did great work, and the story is entertaining. The well-written jokes were a nice bonus, and all the roles were meaty, from an actor's perspective. It was nice to see characters that aren't just throwaway plot devices. I especially liked the women's roles, and the actresses who played those parts (not that the men weren't also good). Some sections of the play are done in a more presentational style, directly to the audience--I think in this show it worked, but it also emphasized the artificiality of theater, so that might bother some people.
I would like to mention the set design, which I thought was impressive, especially for a smaller theater. The theater itself is also pleasant, and in a convenient area, close to BART and restaurants.
