We had a fun time at this show. It's a small place and there's not a bad seat in the house. Some of the players were funnier than others but it was a fun, cheap time. The only thing that annoyed me was that they kept encouraging people to clip news articles from papers on the table but out of all the skits they did they only used 2 or 3 of those - that was disappointing as it felt more staged than improv. I don't know if I would have paid full price though. There are also drinks and snacks available for sale onsite during the intermission.
A little bit Mort Sahl, a little bit Daily Show, and a lot of improvisation, The News Show is a night of improvised scenes based on real-life stories from the news papers of the world. Articles are chosen by performers and audience alike – so come early, grab a paper, and be a part of the magic that happens when real news meets real improv. Directed by Paul Killam.
