Named one of the top ten plays of 2009 by The Advocate, Daniel Talbott's Slipping is an emotional drama about Eli, a high-school senior, who moves with his mother from California to Iowa after his dad's death. But after being mistreated by his closeted ex in California, Eli struggles with the idea of starting a new relationship with the straight star athlete who's befriended him and now wants to get even closer. New Conservatory Theatre Center is known for its innovative productions centered on theatrical work for youth and the LGBT community, and continues that mission with this show, directed by Andrew Nance. This was an amazing show and a great production. The performances were excellent. My boyfriend and I discussed the show for hours afterwards. In my opinion, that's a great night of theater.Written on Jun 06 2011

NCTC continues to provide the Bay Area with thought provoking and challenging theater. THE PRIDE ranks among the best they have produced - well written, impressive actors, strong production values from direction, sets, lighting and mood. I was not only impressed with the acting, but the believable and effective dialects - great coach! Met some audiences members who had seen the production several times and continued to be impressed. I sure was. Thanks,NCTC!Written on Jul 12 2011

Description
Oliver, Philip, and Sylvia are caught in a kind of erotic time warp. Their complex love triangle, replete with conflicting loyalties and passions, jumps from 1958 to the present and back in a maelstrom of fantasy, repression and rebellion in this innovative new drama. After taking London by storm in an Olivier Award-winning production at the Royal Court, The Pride now makes its U.S. West Coast premiere.
