It was a fun show, despite the unexpected absence of Sippy Allison. They pulled out a lot of oldies and good covers (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Velvet Underground, etc.), and along with the usual psychedelic costumes, confetti-shooting, juggling, wacky characters, and general merriment, they also added in some sitar playing for extra effect. The drum kit situated behind plexiglass was good for a laugh as well. Always innovative and creative, The Sippy Cups often entertain the adults as much as the kids. We'll be back again for another round soon (this was my 4 year old's 5th Sippy Cups' show already - amazing)!!!

Continuing their national Time Machine 2009 Tour, The Sippy Cups return to historic and glamourous San Francisco nightclub Bimbo's 365. Also featuring opening act Frances England.
The latest show from national kid-rock sensation The Sippy Cups features original material from their third full-length CD, as well as a selection of recast cult classics from the likes of The Beatles and The Ramones. Songs like "My Loose Tooth", "One Day Soon" and "Seven is the New 14" will delight children of all ages. "Seven" was the first Children's Music Discovery Download in history on the iTunes Music Store, received 90,000 downloads in one week, and shot to #1 on XM/Sirius Kids Place Live this past summer.
The Sippy Cups' famously rollicking stage-show keeps kids enthralled with a carnival of juggling, unicycling, comical characters and special effects. Above the giant balloons and pogo-dancing pre-schoolers, show stopper Anna Robertson returns to The Sippy Stage on her aerial silks and spinning aerial hoop. The Sippy Cups have astounded family audiences from coast to coast in one of the most exciting live shows on the scene.
San Francisco singer/songwriter Frances England's lo-fi kindie pop has garnered accolades and awards from a multitude of national music media, and been glowingly compared to musicians such as Sarah McLachlan and Norah Jones.
The Sippy Cups
Created by three dads living in a coastal town just south of San Francisco, The Sippy Cups' first gig was a fundraiser for a community-built playground in their neighborhood. Just two years later, all their concerts sold out in advance, their CDs flew off the shelves, and critical acclaim hailed from the likes of the San Francisco Chronicle, ABC-TV, the New York Post, and Time magazine. The powerful formula of The Sippy Cups' early success lies in their equal appeal to parents and children and a play list from The Beatles, Velvet Underground, Bowie, The Ramones and others. To top it off, their imaginative original tunes are climbing the kid radio charts and being sung by kids around the country. The San Francisco Chronicle called them "every parent's favorite kid rock band and quite possibly the illegitimate offspring of The Cat in the Hat and Joey Ramone."
