The Sound of Young America is a public radio show about things that are awesome. Every week host Jessie Thorn, America’s radio sweetheart, the youngest national host in public radio history at 26, brings listeners the most exciting voices in music, literature, comedy and the arts. The show is distributed to public radio stations around the country by Public Radio International, and is heard by thousands every week via one of the most popular podcasts in public radio. The Sound has twice been featured in Salon, Time magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and Esquire, which picked the show as one of its “Esquire 100," writing “Finally, a public radio show that’s specifically designed not for the kind of people who carry around canvas NPR tote bags.”
