The New Conservatory Theatre Center presents the San Francisco premiere of The Story of My Life, a funny and deeply moving musical about lifelong best friends Alvin and Thomas. As time tests the bonds of their relationship, best-selling author Thomas calls on the only resource he has -- his own stories of Alvin -- to figure out where things went wrong. Nominated for four 2009 Drama Desk awards, including Outstanding Musical, The Story of My Life pays tribute to the power of friendship, the personal cost of success, and the choices we make at the turning points of our lives. Dennis Lickteig directs.

Birds of a Feather: Award-Winning Comedy by NPR's Marc Acito

Full Price:
$25.00 - $37.00
Our Price:
$12.50 - $18.50

Inspired by true events, Birds of a Feather is a smart and surprisingly human comedy about two bird families living in New York City. Award-winning author and NPR personality Marc Acito deftly interweaves two famous New York stories -- Roy and Silo, the two male penguins who raised a chick together at the Central Park Zoo, and the red-tailed hawks who made their home on the ledge of a 5th Avenue building -- into one highly original play. Winner of the Helen Hayes Award for Best New Play, Birds of a Feather is a heart-warming story that celebrates families of every type and breed, an uplifting exploration of psychology, zoology and what truly defines a family. Sweet piece about friendship, the coming together and the letting go. Actors were sweet.

I loved this play! The story was told in such a beautiful way by two actors who are so incredibly talented. They pulled you into the story and made you feel all they were feeling. The script and songs were perfect in relaying the message in a very succinct and poignant way. I could not hold back the tears at the end. But don't let that stop you from seeing this beautiful message for all generations.

I loved this show! Initially I was leery of a 2 man show, one set, etc., but these two actors kept me enthralled the entire show. And with no intermission! Very emotional, I honestly cried 4 separate times, it was so moving. I highly recommend this show.

This show was just about perfect; well written and very well executed! The two performers were were an example of great casting and were so complimentary to one another! Too bad the run came to an end as I would have liked to be able to see it again.
