The dancing, singing, and music were wonderful. A thoroughly enjoyable performance.

wow - loved this play! i've always loved this album and have seen the movie, but this is the first time i've seen the theatre version. it was so well done.
loved all the actors! the most powerful scenes to me were when all three tommys performed together.
At the performance I attended, the sound was perfectly balanced and the levels were just right--whatever problems they may have been having had been addressed and solved--the lyrics were all clear and understandable. Zachary Franczak had the voice and charisma to carry off the title role, and was ably supported by the large cast. The "book scenes" added by Des McAnuff do not really help make sense of the story, but no matter. It is the music--"some of the most passionate rock music of the last fifty years"--that makes the show. The band is not The Who, and any comparison would be unfair. As with other Ray of Light productions I have seen, the direction is tentative and conservative and the sets barely serviceable, but the singing and dancing were top notch. Altogther a most enjoyable 2 hours with an old familiar friend.
